Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Chewies

Served at the TruHealth Pamper Days

Heat oven to 350 degrees

1 cup white spelt flour

1/2 cup Sucanat or raw sugar (or you can use1/4 cup xylitol and 1/4 cup dark Agave Nectar)

1/4 cup organic shortening

3 Tbsp oat milk (or you can use soy, rice or almond milk)

1/8 teaspoon sea salt

Mix these together in mixer and press into greased baking pan 13x9x2 inches.

Bake 10 minutes

While this is cooking, mix:

2 eggs

3/4 cup Sucanat or raw sugar (or you can use1/4 cup xylitol and 1/4 cup dark Agave Nectar)

1 tsp natural vanilla

1/4 tsp sea salt

1 cup of organic oatmeal

1 cup grain sweetened chocolate chips

Nuts (if desired)

Mix all of these in a mixer, then pour over the baked layer and spread out.

Bake 20 minutes. Cut into bars while warm 2x1 inch.
