Farewell to Fungus
Is there a fungus inside of you? Many people have fungus, yeast within their bodies. In small doses this can be healthy, but when it overtakes the body, it can drive you crazy. The medical name for this overgrowth is Candida (pronounced “canada”) albicans. Popular symptoms of fungus issues are athlete’s foot, dandruff, rashes (eczema, psoriasis, vaginal yeast infections, (these are common and often are alternating with bladder infections) and brain fog. For skin issues, you may think treating it on the surface will work, think again, as what is going on topically on your skin is typically an indication of what is going on in your body.
A certified iridologist can see fungus within the tissues of the body via the iris. There is a fungus test as well that people do by spitting into a glass of water and watching what happens. There are tests that medical doctors can do also to confirm this or other fungus strains.
But a more important question is: how do you get rid of this annoying little pest and prevent it from coming back?
One option is to take prescription drugs, such as Diflucan. Unfortunately, these drugs are very strong, they can have some nasty side effects, and they work by weakening your liver, so the fungus then goes and puts spores in the liver and leaves. But typically the minute you go off of the drugs, guess who is back? So many people come to us asking how to get rid of fungus naturally and for good.
First off, what are you doing to make a welcome environment for fungus? What is the pH of your body? If you body pH is not optimum, then you are creating a welcome environment for these types of organisms. (See March 2007, Voice of Choices article, http://www.truhealth.com/March2007pHbalance.htm. This is the same pH balance that is needed in a fish tank or in your swimming pool or hot tub. And, if you eat sugar, dairy, wheat, mushrooms, vinegar, alcohol and other fermented foods, you are probably feeding this organism. Some people also notice it from eating too much fruit.
So what can you do? Work on making your body more balanced as far as pH – you don’t want too acid or too alkaline, you want to be balanced. Eating more vegetables and less of the items listed above that will feed the fungus, can help to do this. Emotionally, fungus is holding onto the past. So you might look at what you are subconsciously holding onto and make a conscious decision to let go.
Another cause we see is people that are deficient in Iodine. This is being recognized as a huge problem in this country and you can read more about it in December 2006 Voice of Choices at http://www.truhealth.com/December2006-Iodine.htm. If your body is deficient in iodine, this can affect your pH and also set up an environment that makes it difficult to rid yourself of fungus and other organisms. I have seen many people who have had amazing results getting on iodine, not only completely change the pH of their body, but it also improves their mood, improves their food cravings, helps them sleep better, and eliminate all the fungus in their body typically in a matter of months. Often other herbs are required in addition, such as black walnut, kelp, black currant oil, Pau d’arco, oregano or other yeast/fungal products in addition to products to help strengthen or cleanse the main elimination organs.
Typically this all starts when people take antibiotics. When you take an antibiotic, you not only kill the organism you are trying to kill, but also billions of probiotics in your body that are there to help prevent fungus from overtaking your body. You can read more about this in Voice of Choices, May 2005 at http://www.truhealth.com/EnzymesvsProbiotics.htm.
This is becoming a huge problem in this country and even many M.D.’s are now recommending probiotics to their patients after they take the antibiotic. However, this doesn’t always prevent fungus from getting a foothold.
Many times we have found that the fungus is in a symbiotic relationship with other organisms. That means that there is another organism in the body, like another fungus, or virus, bacteria or parasite. Killing one just upsets the other and makes the person take another antibiotic and start the process all over again of attracting another fungus. These bugs have been around for millions of years and know how to make us eat/crave certain foods to feed themselves or attract other organisms. They know how to make us itch so we can attract organisms to our face and skin. They know how to change our behavior to their benefit, putting us in environments that we wouldn’t normally be in, again to attract other organisms or to feed their environment. You can read more about this in Discover magazine as they often have articles that discuss this topic.
Another issue to pay attention to when trying to rid yourself of these organisms, is mutation. Often organisms will mutate, especially if you are not taking anything to prevent mutation. There are two herbs we use specifically for mutation: astragalus and Pau d’arco. These herbs can help to keep the organism in its original state so you have a better shot at killing it. Mutation is well-known in the medical community. That is the main reason why you are not supposed to stop taking antibiotics before the prescription is finished. If you do, the organism can change or mutate and then the new strain can’t be killed by the same antibiotic. It has learned how to survive.
We see this same issue when trying to kill organisms in people with herbs and natural products. If people stop taking their herbal programs in the middle of their program, organisms can get a stronger hold, by mutating and then next time it can take more work to get rid of it.
Another tool we use to help people with fungus issue is our Nature’s Sunshine’s Nature’s Fresh product. It can help kill fungus as well. It contains enzymes that help to neutralize the fungus organisms. I went water skiing a few years ago, and the person I was going with had found one of his life vests shoved under the side of the boat and it was covered with mold (fungus). So we sprayed it with Nature’s Fresh and let it sit in the sun for a little while, then rinsed it off. It was completely cleaned, smelled great and was ready to use. This product is so safe; it can be used on your skin, or even taken internally to help all sorts of health problems in addition to fungus issues.
Another product that can help rid the body of fungus is xylitol. Xylitol is a wood sugar sweetener that is gaining popularity. It can have a laxative effect for some people, but also can help kill fungus in the body as well, which is one reason it is used effectively in sinus sprays to kill sinus infections, which are typically from fungus overgrowth.
So if there is a fungus in your body, hopefully I’ve given you some ideas on how to rid yourself of it for good.
