As way of introduction, here is a little of my story. When I was in high school, I wanted to learn about how to stop illness and organisms in the body which is why I went to college to become a Medical Technologist, learning about hematology and organisms. I had no idea that eventually the path that I chose would take me to the plants of the earth and the areas of the mind and body.
I have been fortunate to work in a variety of industries in my life including corporate America, affording me the opportunity to travel around the world. After my own challenging health issues, and my Herbalist/Natural Health training and apprenticeship, I opened a small herb business in 1993 to teach others what I had learned that helped so much with my own health. Through my own growth and learning I realized something was missing which is why I started learning about psychology. Uncovering my own wounding and seeing how dramatically emotions affected my own health helped me to see how powerful emotions can be in affecting health issues in general.
I believe my medical background, analytic corporate background, world travelled multi-cultural experiences, and understanding of the intricate workings of the body, organisms and of herbal plants gives me a unique edge as a counselor. I was fortunate to attend Antioch University for my Masters where they focus more on experiences and people as human beings, rather than fitting illness and clients into boxes. It is the combination of these many experiences that makes me stand out among other counselors.
